Needless to say that monsoon is one of the exhilarating seasons, beating down the summer heat, refreshing the earth surface and reviving the cropland. All this intensifies the calmness and soothness of mind and the body, addressing the period in much more appealing way.
While watching the rain rejuvenating the earth, it is always a pleasure to have a cup of your favourite drink or beverage to sip. And whats better than a glass of cocktails flawlessly blending with the storm outside. A mix of hot alcohol and spice reflected with butter and sugar, savour the season with bavarian mulled wine and hot buttered rum.
BAVARIAN MULLED WINE
Hot Buttered Rum
1. Beat butter, sugar, orange zest, cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg with a mixer on medium speed until throughly combined for about one minute.
2. Combine 2 tablespoons spiced butter with 1 1/2 ounces (3 tablespoons) dark rum in each of 4 heatproof glasses. Pour 3/4 cup boiling water over each, and stir. Top each with a squeeze of fresh orange juice.
Tip: Spiced butter bottle can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
